Wealth Manager, Rung III (Remote or Onsite in SF Bay Area)

JLFranklin Wealth Planning is a small growing Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) firm with headquarters in the San Francisco Bay Area. This is a remote position. We offer a stimulating, fast-paced environment with long-term growth potential.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
The Wealth Manager works with Support and Lead Advisors with all aspects of wealth management, including resolving client requests, data gathering and analysis, financial planning and portfolio reviews, meeting preparation and review, client communication, client account maintenance, drafting and placing trades, researching investments, and implementation of recommendations. Additionally, the Wealth Manager will participate in business development activities to attract clients. All client relationships are handled on a team basis, and the Wealth Manager is a key member of the team.

WEALTH MANAGER PROFILE
The focus of this position is working with and through others, building and maintaining relationships, and working closely and accurately within established guidelines. The wealth manager is an effective communicator, someone who is able to stimulate and motivate others while being aware of and responsive to their needs and concerns. There will be many different people to meet and work with. The person in this position must be friendly and genuinely interested in the firm and needs of others, including our team, the firm’s management, and our clients. A persuasive, teaching style of communication is required to communicate the company’s policies, programs, and systems. A faster-than-average pace is required for this position.

Detail work is a major focus of the job, and those details need to be handled quickly, correctly, and efficiently. This portion of the work will often focus on relationships with others; correct handling of details and dealing with others is necessary to maintain and grow relationships. In your capacity as a manager, following up carefully, closely, and cheerfully is required to ensure both correct work and maintenance of the relationships. Necessary corrections must be made in a constructive and supportive manner. Ability to adhere to deadlines is crucial, while producing accurate work. This is a position where guidelines, structure, and established policies must be followed fairly closely, while working with and for others.

 

JOB CHARACTERISTICS

  • Each day is different from the next, especially in personal interactions. This is a fast-paced environment and you will have multiple projects going simultaneously.
  • Very socially-focused; requires a “how can I help you?” attitude. Lots of attention spent on building and maintaining relationships, especially where helping, not pressuring, others fosters the relationship.
  • Adherence to established guidelines and procedures is important. It is crucial to involve others in the decision-making; there is a need to build consensus rather than make decisions alone.
  • Open, flowing communication is important. The position requires working with and through others, especially in a helping role. There is a need for a persuasive, “selling” (rather than “telling”) communication style.
  • Team environment: As a leader, you must be willing to jump in and roll up your sleeves to help out when necessary. You are someone who leads by example, with first-hand knowledge of your area of expertise. Strong, friendly follow-up is necessary on tasks delegated to ensure proper results.

 
REQUIRED

  • 3 to 7 years of experience in the financial services industry
  • CFP® Designation
  • Ability to read and synthesize written information effectively
  • Bachelor’s degree in Financial Planning or a related field
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Uncompromising ethical standards
  • Desire and ability to work successfully and collaboratively in a small company environment
