Browns Canyon Half Day

Numbers Half Day
The Numbers on the Arkansas River is one of the best sections of white water rafting in Colorado if you are looking for a fun, action packed, non-stop ride. This class IV intermediate to advanced rafting trip is great for experienced rafters or adventurous first timers. Participants should be in good physical condition and ready to paddle!
The Numbers half day section has 7 major rapids, numbered off one through seven (real original names, I know) but that’s not all, there are plenty of other rapids in-between the major ones. This section is very continuous without much down time. Not only is this section exciting but it is beautiful too. There are many majestic views of the Collegiate Peaks and the Mosquito mountain range located just north of Buena Vista, Colorado.
Trip times are at 10 am and 12:45 pm out of our Buena Vista outpost. We recommend participants to be 15 years old or older. Free wetsuit, splash top and river shoe rentals are included.

Numbers Full Day
The Numbers section of the Arkansas River offers some of the greatest white water rafting in Colorado and in the country! This Buena Vista white water rafting trip will show you the meaning of excitement. Experience 13 miles of continuous class IV+ rapids that are sure to provide a heart pounding and adrenaline pumping adventure. If you’re looking for big drops, splashes and non-stop action then this is the rafting trip for you. Pay close attention your expert guide as he instructs and maneuvers the raft with the help of your paddles through the steep drops and narrow channels. Try not to miss the majestic views of the Collegiate Peaks as you navigate eight Class IV+ exciting rapids and continuous whitewater before lunch.
Take a much needed break and catch your breath while enjoying a delicious riverside lunch prepared for you by your guide. We continue the excitement down stream as you raft The Narrows section, also known as Wild Horse Canyon, and tackling six more Class III-IV rapids. Your trip concludes in our town’s favorite spot, the Buena Vista white water play park. Up for another challenge? Your guide can surely be talked into surfing the play wave!

Our Razor partners are locate one mile from our Buena Vista outpost and provide quality side by side Razor rentals and guided tours with drop off/pick up and directions with maps of our beautiful local 4X4 trails.

Colorado Zip Lines
Bring the kids out and become a kid again yourself on this amazing Canyon Aerial Course complex located in the Lost Canyon near Salida Colorado. Sitting atop 60 foot poles, there are 9 different courses ranging from yellow (easy) to double black (extreme) using 120 interconnected “challenge elements.” Start easy and work your way up!
Each guest will be fitted with gear and given instruction prior to entering the Canyon Aerial Challenge course. Participants are secured throughout their experience to the life safety systems using the Bornack Smart Safe Belay (SSB) lanyard system which prevents participants from detaching from the system during transfers from one element to the next while providing participants the freedom to choose their route and move at their own pace.

Clear Creek Rafting Advanced Full Day
Our Clear Creek Advanced full day whitewater rafting trip is a company favorite and longest rafting trip offered on Clear Creek. Not only is the lower canyon the most exciting whitewater in the area, but also the most scenic section of the Creek as well. We will guide you through all of the sections available starting with a “warm up” in the intermediate section, navigating rapids such as Phoenix, Deliverance and Outer Limits with continuous and nonstop water in between.
As we come into the historic town of Idaho Springs, we will make a detour and stop for a delicious barbecue lunch with our partners at Smokin Yard’s! It’s a company and town favorite. You’ll need the fuel before entering the lower Canyon, the advanced class IV-V stretch. No need to worry though. We give you time to digest and warm up with a few miles of calm and class III rapids prior to the big stuff!
First up in the class IV category is Beaver Falls, a back to back double rapid. Other class IV rapids include Tricky Dick and Guide Ejector. Better get your game face on and paddle hard as we begin the class V rapid section! Rapids such as Double Knife, Hell’s Half Mile and Hell’s Corner will be sure to give you the thrill of a lifetime. We’re sure that this is some of the most exciting whitewater in Colorado.

Clear Creek Beginner
A great introduction to white water rafting! If you have a short time frame and want to stay close to Denver this is a great option. If you have more time we recommend our Browns Canyon National Monument Half Day trip for the iconic Colorado rafting experience.
Our one-third-day beginner trip is great for ages 6+ and 50 lbs. Bring the whole family, bring friends, team build with coworkers or scout troops on this Rocky Mountain whitewater experience. You will raft approximately 6 miles through Class II-III rapids and follow the twist and turns of the river through the historic town of Idaho Springs, passing old gold mines and the town water wheel. Paddle through fun and splashy rapids such as Castle Falls, Dizzy Lizzy, Mountain Lion, and Mr. Twister. We highly recommend this trip for children and first time rafters!

Clear Creek Intermediate
This is Clear Creek’s most popular stretch of river. Great for adventurous first time paddlers and thrill seekers alike. Just minutes from Denver, this narrow, steep, technical section offers some of the most continuous and exciting whitewater Colorado has to offer. You will paddle hard on this trip while you listen to your guide call commands, navigating many back to back class III-IV rapids. Some rapids you will experience are Nomad, Phoenix, and Outer-limits. This is a fun fast paced trip with plenty of excitement for you!
This is a great option if you have time restraints. If you have more time we recommend checking out either The Numbers or Browns Canyon, some iconic runs on the Arkansas River.

This is out of our Idaho Springs outpost approximately 40 minutes west of Denver.
Our Colorado Clear Creek Advanced whitewater rafting trip is one of the most exciting and action packed trips we have to offer. This trip is for experienced rafters over 16. Located at our outpost in Idaho Springs, Colorado 40 minutes from Denver, this tour offers you huge drops, continuous and fast paced white water and heart pounding excitement.
Great for rafters trying to stay close to Denver. If you have more time check out our Pine Creek Full Day or Half Day trip, our most advanced trip offered, or The Numbers Full or Half Day trip on the Arkansas River.
Post trip bragging rights include back to back class IV drops in Beaver Falls, other class IV rapids such as Tricky Dick and Guide Ejector and the class V section of the advanced canyon. We will navigate through rapids such as Double Knife, Hell’s Half Mile and Hell’s Corner, just to name a few.
Our advanced rafting is physically demanding; good physical condition and previous rafting experience is strongly recommended. No “lily dippers”!

Our Paddle-N-Saddle Combo Trip offers the complete experience, Rafting Colorado’s famous Browns Canyon or The Numbers in the morning and enjoy jumping in a saddle on horseback for an afternoon horseback ride into Colorado’s Rocky Mountains! If you have not experience Colorado horseback riding, you owe it to yourself to gallop in the majestic Rockies.
Choose which rafting trip is right for your group, both are great trips. Browns Canyon goes through a National Monument and has a bunch of fun class III rapids. After rafting you will have a break in-between adventures to grab a bite and then meet at our horseback riding partner’s stables, Mount Princeton Stables located about 10-15 minutes south of us. There you will meet your horse and guide and enjoy a 2 hour guided horseback ride near Mount Princeton and Chalk Creek.

Numbers and Browns Canyon 2 Day Trip
At Browns Canyon Rafting, we believe that there is nothing in the world like overnight white water rafting in Colorado, and this is our favorite. On day one you will raft the fun and challenging Numbers class IV section and continue through the Narrows. After lunch you will continue to your camp site in Browns Canyon National Monument. Great secluded camp sites! Day two you will raft through the rest of the fun Browns Canyon section.
This overnight is great for thrill seekers and adventurous first timers!
All meals from lunch on day one to lunch on day two are provided and use high quality ingredients, you won’t go hungry. We are always happy to accommodate special dietary needs and special requests. At camp enjoy games, hikes, fishing, or just relax while your guides set up camp.

Pine Creek 2-Day Overnight Trip
This trip is for experienced paddlers and adrenaline seekers over 16!On this two day Arkansas River overnight rafting trip you will raft through the infamous Pine Creek class V, Numbers class IV and Browns Canyon class III sections.
Day one is action packed starting up at the Granite Gorge and making your way through Pine Creek and the Numbers. This section is narrow with steep drops and pour overs. Pine Creek rapid itself is a continuous 1.5 miles long rapid dropping 200 feet per mile.
You will camp towards the top of Browns Canyon in the National Monument wilderness area. After getting to camp you will have time to celebrate, explore, hike, fish or just relax as our guides prepare a feast for your group.
After a good nights sleep, under the stars or in a tent, you will continue your rafting adventure through Browns Canyon National Monument. There are still many fun class III+ rapids to come during the final leg of your voyage!

Pine Creek Full Day Colorado Class V
The most extreme whitewater rafting trip in Buena Vista, Colorado! Paddle Pine Creek and the Numbers on this full day trip.
This trip is for experienced paddlers and adrenaline seekers. It is iconic Colorado class V advanced white water rafting! If you are limited on time check out our Pine Creek Half Day trip.
We start the trip in the Granite Gorge, a steep and narrow canyon with class III-IV rapids. Consider this the warm up! Next, you’ll pull over for a quick scout with your guide as you prepare yourself for what’s ahead… full on Colorado Class V whitewater with Pine Creek Rapid and Triple Drop. These rapids create a continuous 1.5 mile class V rapid dropping 200 feet per mile over giant boulders and steep pour overs. It’s sure to get the blood pumping!
After maneuvering through Pine Creek Rapid and Triple Drop the trip continues with the infamous class IV section, The Numbers. These 6 extra miles of continuous whitewater will be a perfect follow up to your already awesome day. With plenty of views and wildlife to see, take a few moments to look around and appreciate all that the Colorado wilderness has to offer. When you reach the take-out, your guide will prepare you a well deserved and delicious lunch.

Full Day Inflatable Kayaking
Ready for adventure? Ready for fun? The excitement begins as you jump on top of your own inflatable kayak, aka “ducky”, and start running the river in your own boat. Kayaks are an amazing adventure for any size family or group.
Our duckies are open and easily maneuverable and they offer a totally different experience on the river than rafting! Rapids feel bigger being that close to the water. You will be in charge of your own boat on this guided tour. Your guide will go over best techniques and procedures for reading the river and maneuvering your ducky downstream. He or she will be with you throughout the trip to show you the best route and run safety incase you go for a swim.
We cater to first timers and experienced kayakers alike and choose the section of river best suited for your group. We have easy to advanced sections. Inflatable kayaking is physically demanding and all participants should be in good physical condition.

Inflatable kayaks (aka duckies) are a fun and exciting adventure! Our duckies are open and easily maneuverable and they offer a totally different experience on the river than rafting. Sitting low on the Arkansas River gives you a new vantage point and makes even small waves into big events; it’s a great adventure even with low water!
These trips are customized to your group and ability level. Our guides will show you the ropes and teach you proper kayaking techniques as you learn how to steer yourself through mellow rapids or challenge some of the skills you’ve acquired in the past. We cater to the first timer and the experienced kayaker alike and choose the section of river best suited to your group.
Take a morning trip, meeting at 9 am, or an afternoon excursion at 1 pm. A half day trip allows enough time to enjoy hiking and climbing nearby or enjoy a leisurely lunch in Buena Vista!
